Call for Workshops

The Australasian Computing Education Conference (ACE) invites proposals for half day workshops to be held on 3rd February 2017. The workshops will be held in Geelong, at the Deakin University Waterfront Campus, as part of Australasian Computer Science Week. Submissions are invited for either Research or Tutorial Workshops.

Research Workshops: Research workshops should be interactive and aimed at opening up new directions or collaborations in research or to explore emerging or existing research fields/projects. The research should have the potential to impact on new developments in the field of computer science education.

Tutorial Workshops: Tutorials should emphasize learning and provide the opportunity for the participants to undertake further professional development with a focus on helping participants develop effective teaching techniques.

Proposals should include the following information.

  • A title
  • Whether the proposal is for a research or a tutorial workshop
  • The names of the workshop leaders (indicating which leader is the contact person)
  • Goals of the workshop
  • Abstract (description of your workshop, no more than 200 words)
  • Expected Outcomes
  • Equipment needs (e.g., indicate if participants are required to bring laptops)

Proposals will be evaluated and workshop selection will be on the basis of their potential interest for the ACE community.
